Message I can't tell you how many I've seen that with all the proper covers still have small rocks/debris up in there. All of which could very easily cause massive problems on a street car. If he had a pure race application, very limited driving and had the ability to pull a motor himself it'd be a different story.

You make it sound like he'd have to have a big sacrifice (bubble) to prevent a small issue (flu). It's more like taking proper care of your body to help prevent an early death. All he has to do is spend a hundred bucks to save himself from a catastrophic engine failure, thousands of dollars and a big headache. If we're going to start recommending skimping to noobs we might as well send them to 300ZXClub.
